This course requires straight tee shots. The narrow fairways are tree lined, and the small greens are well bunkered. The James River comes into play on several holes. The signature hole is #15, a 225-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot from off an elevated tee box to a well-bunkered green thirty feet below. The 5,662-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 73.3 and a slope of 124.
