Osprey Point Golf Course at Kiawah Island Resorts

Kiawah Island, South Carolina 29455

This resort, which was named to "GOLF Magazine's" 1998 list of "Silver Medal Resorts," features four outstanding eighteen hole courses.

The Osprey Point Course is the most scenic of the courses and also the most forgiving. The fairways are open, and the large greens are undulating. This course winds through the eastern end of the island and has lagoons that come into play on some holes. There are water hazards that come into play on fifteen holes. Some of the natural settings include lagoons, marshes, and a forest of pine, palmetto, oak and magnolia trees.

A Tom Fazio design, Osprey Point opened in 1988. Set amid pristine lagoons, marshes and maritime forests, Osprey Point offers picturesque views from every hole. But with wide fairways and large greens, the course is quite forgiving. It's built around four large natural lakes and fingers of saltwater marshes that provide a classic Lowcountry look. Into this backdrop Fazio created a masterpiece of playability and variety, a favorite of residents and Resort guests alike.

A new clubhouse encompasses over 14,000 square feet of pro shop offering quality apparel, attended locker rooms and a semi-private dining room. Current green fees are $160 outside and $125 for guests of the resort.

Golf Packages are available, and you may make your tee time reservations when making your hotel accommodations. The green fees for each of the four courses are seasonal and subject to change several times throughout the year. Guests may stay in villas overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, lagoons, tennis courts or the fairways. The villas include complete kitchens. There is a 150 room Kiawah Island Inn also available for room accommodations. Amenities and activities include tennis, bike rides, nature tours, kayak tours and 10-mile-long private beach. In West Beach, located by the Kiawah Island Inn, you may dine poolside at the Sundancer Grill, at the formal Atlantic Room or the informal West Beach CafT. In East Beach you may dine poolside at the Night Heron Park Grill or The Village Bistro. Osprey Point's Clubhouse offers formal dining while The Ocean Course Grill offers a more relaxed menu (and some of the best Crabcakes and burgers in the Lowcountry). Mingo Point offers Lowcountry barbecues with a pig-pull and a Carolina oyster roast. Dining is along the beautiful Kiawah River to the melodies of the coastal area's finest Bluegrass musicians.
