This Pete Dye course was originally constructed in 1967. However, Avalon Lakes recently undewent an eight-million dollar total renovation. Over 300,000 cubic yards of earth were moved during reconstruction. One of the more striking results of this renovation is that water now comes into play on at least twelve holes. The fairways range from unforgivably narrow to generously wide open. Previously a flat course, Avalon Lakes now has a great may elevation changes. This is a gallery-style course, and as such, the facility is well equipped to host a variety of tournament level competitions. This club annually hosts the LPGA Tour's Youngstown/Warren Tournament.
