This course features the typical narrow fairways and small, fast, undulating greens that are associated with traditional designs. This club has been listed by the USGA as being one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. "GOLF Magazine" also gave it recognition in their 1995 list of "The First 100 Clubs in America." Water hazards come into play on four holes. The course has been redesigned and renovated by several architects over the years, the latest by George and Tom Fazio in 1977. Tom Bendelow designed the back nine shortly after the original nine was opened.
