This resort has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. The Lake and Valley Courses were designed and built by Joe Finger and play alongside a lake. The signature hole for these two courses is #13, a 512-yard, par 5, with its elevated tee that looks out over a fairway that is well guarded on the left side by Grossinger's Lake and requires an approach shot to an island green. The club was home of the New York State Open from 1978 to 1988. The Vista Course was built as part of the original hotel property. This is the easiest of the three courses because it is shorter and water comes into play on only one hole. The most challenging course is the Lake Course because of the wide diversity of holes and the water hazards. The Valley Course plays long and has narrow fairways that are tree lined. The greens on all three courses are fast, undulating, and medium sized. William F. Mitchell redesigned the original holes in 1959. "Golf Digest" rated the Valley/Lake as the 2nd "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. There is no slope rating available for the men's regular tee on the Vista/Lake Combination.
