This club offers a choice of two regulation eighteen hole courses. The North Course was the host for the 1995 USGA Amateur Public Links Championship. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 28th best under the category of "America's Top 75 Affordable Courses" in their 1996 list of "America's Best Golf Courses Everyone Can Play." The North Course is the flatter and longer of the two courses. This course was cut out of a pine forest. Therefore, the fairways are tree lined, but none of them parallel each other. Water hazards (ponds) come into play on seven holes. The South Course is the shorter and more hilly course. Like the North Course, this course was also cut out of the forest. Yet, some of the fairways are dogleg designs, and water hazards (ponds) come into play on four holes. The greens are multi-tiered, elevated, and well bunkered. The signature hole on the North Course is #9, a 478-yard, par 4, requiring the golfer to negotiate the creek that runs alongside the fairway then veers to protect the front of the green. Geoffrey Cornish and Bill Robinson designed the back nine and redesigned the exiting holes on the Stow South Course in 1965. A senior discount is only offered for the South Course. Stow Acres Golf School is located on the premises; for additional information call (508) 568-8690.
