The Bluffs On Thompson Creek, A scenic Masterpiece In Golf Course Construction

Nestled away in Saint Francisville, Louisiana, you’ll find The Bluffs On Thompson Creek, a beautifully scenic, award winning golf course. Located on Highway 965 at Freeland Rd in Saint Francisville, this course is part of The Audubon Golf Trail.

The course was designed by the famous Arnold Palmer and was completed and opened to the public in 1988. The green in described as Tidwarf grass. The course was built upon the landscape as it appeared naturally and the result is a challenging game of game. When visiting, expect to find sudden elevation changes, uneven lies and multi-tiered greens. There are also multiple water hazards on 16 of the holes, streams, lakes, creeks and ponds all offer an open invitation to sink your ball into the wet.

Golf Magazine ranked The Bluffs as number 34 on it’s list of top 100 US courses. Golfweek placed at 100th on America’s Best Modern Courses in 1997.

Tee time starts at 7:00am and you need reservations at least four days in advance. The dress code does not permit denim of any kind. You are expected to show up in a collared shirt and Bermuda length shorts if you want to play.

Golf clubs and golf carts are available for rental on-site from the Pro Shop beginning at 7:30am. Walking is permitted on the green. Only the tees are overseeded so try to preserve the fairways as much as possible.

A snack bar is offered as well as a restaurant on site. A full bar is provided at The Bluffs for those wishing to celebrate their golfing success or mourn their losses.
