Idaho’s Hillcrest C.C. Is No Spud
The Boise open is played at the Hillcrest Country Club each year, situated in the bench area of Idaho, offering one of the premier golfing experiences in the northwest portion of the country. Offering 18 holes of spectacular views and challenging golfing, Hillcrest has been treating its members to top golfing facilities for over 60 years.
The Boise mountains are the backdrop to a scenic view of the city as well as indigenous flowers, plants and trees that line the fairways and hazards, making the entire course a showplace of beauty for its members.
The lake between holes one and nine usually doesn’t present a problem off the first tee, but an errant approach to the ninth green could end with drowning your ball. Water also plays on holes four, five and eight on the front nine with traps guarding most greens.
On the back nine a meandering stream cuts off holes 10 and 18 from the rest of the back while hole 13 plays over a small pond and hole 14 runs parallel to the water and ends at the green where the stream makes a hard right turn, putting a ball hit over the green into the drink.
Trees line most fairways keeping them tight and preventing your ball from trespassing onto other fairways. PGA Pro Todd Binder is joined by tennis pro Duane Stotland to help work the kinks out of your game and to answer rules questions. The swimming pool and tennis courts round out the available facilities for family enjoyment on this professional course.
