This course has fast greens that are very undulating and well bunkered. Ten of the greens are multi-tiered, and hole #14, 179-yard, par 3, features a peninsula green. Water hazards (eleven ponds connected by a creek) come into play on fourteen holes. The signature hole is #4, a 166-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over water to a small green. "Golf Digest" rated this 26th best out of "America's 100 Greatest Courses" for 1995-96, and 29th best for 1997-98. It was also rated as the 2nd "Best in State" course for the years 1995 through 1998. In addition, "GOLF Magazine" awarded it 42nd among the "Top 100 Courses in the U.S." for both 1995 and 1997, and 50th for 1999. "GOLFWEEK" ranked it 37th in the category of "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" for 1997, 50th in 1998 and 52nd in 1999. Due to the private nature of the club, there are no cart or green fees available for publication. Caddies are mandatory if you choose to walk the course. The scorecard doesn't show any information for the ladies' tee.
