This is a typical desert course where shot accuracy is needed if you wish to score low. There are several required shots over desert landscaping. Some of the greens and tees are elevated, providing a wide variety of differences in elevation throughout the course. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 6th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996, and the 18th "Best in State" course for 1995-96. This club previously hosted the PGA Northern Telecom Open.
